Scarecrow ideas for next year's entry
Pick a theme people will know from across the patch, like a storybook character, a job or your favorite team. Build on a sturdy wood or PVC frame set deep in the ground, and stuff old clothes with straw or newspaper. Outdoor paint and weatherproof clothes help it last the whole season. Keep the face big and simple so it reads from the path.
